Collect, Assess and Freeze

Service Description

Our Collect, Assess & Freeze service provides a complete fertility assessment while preserving your stud dog's genetics for future breeding. Following collection, the semen is evaluated for volume, concentration, colour, motility and morphology, providing valuable insight into fertility and breeding potential. If suitable for freezing, the semen is carefully processed and frozen using a multi-step cryopreservation process to ensure optimal preservation of genetic material. Following freezing, one pellet is thawed and assessed to confirm the freeze was successful and that the semen has maintained acceptable post-thaw quality. You will receive a comprehensive semen analysis along with the Dogs Victoria Semen Collection Registration Form via email. Frozen semen remains viable indefinitely when stored correctly in liquid nitrogen. The service includes 12 months of complimentary semen storage. Semen can remain in long-term storage at Sires on Ice Victoria, or we can assist with arranging transport to another approved storage facility if preferred.
